Support eclectic chamber music through Spectrum!
$1,143 Raised
Celebrating its exciting 40th season, Spectrum Chamber Music Society began in 1986 with an ensemble of friends and colleagues from the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra who enjoyed playing chamber music together and wanted to share their joy of collaboration with the community at large. It quickly grew to include various ensembles of FWSO musicians who presented an eclectic mix of classical music from the 18th Century to the present day.
Today, Spectrum continues this tradition with SPECTRUM PRESENTS!, our main series of six unique programs per season. As part of our commitment to sharing music with as many people as possible, many of our performances are free (though we do accept freewill donations to help compensate our artists for their time and talent). Our 2025-26 season begins with a program of iconic movie music scores and ends with the return of a Fort Worth favorite, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, presenting his acclaimed program of South American music, Caminos del Inka.
Spectrum has expanded beyond its original mission to include three other major projects:
SPECTRUM INSPIRES! partners with organizations like LVT Rise and Center for Transforming Lives to bring the magic of live classical music directly to underserved children in our community, creating powerful experiences that introduce young minds to the beauty of classical music, spark imagination and create lasting memories.
SPECTRUM CONNECTS! collaborates with community venues across the Metroplex to share chamber music with a broader audience. From free events to public spaces to ticketed performances at cultural centers, these concerts feature Spectrum’s own set ensembles, giving each program a distinctive voice while keeping the artistry familiar.
SPECTRUM DISCOVERS! highlights new voices in chamber music through our annual composition award, which selects outstanding works from emerging composers, giving them a place on our stage alongside beloved classics.
OUR NEEDS:
SPECTRUM INSPIRES! programs are offered at no cost to the organizations we serve, ensuring that children in under-resourced communities can experience live classical music without barriers. To make this possible, we rely on donor support to cover the cost of compensating our professional musicians. Your gift directly sustains this outreach, helping us bring music, imagination, and joy to those who need it most.
