Helping Restore Ability

Helping Restore Ability (HRA) is a nonprofit organization that supports low-income individuals with disabilities of all ages by providing critical in-home care services that allow them to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. HRA was established in 1977 and we continue to serve our clients by delivering personal attendant care, long-term support, and specialized home health services. We ensure that children and adults with disabilities can continue living in their homes, attending school, and working, while preventing the need for institutional care.

Our Impact:

• 1,050 clients served annually
• 98% of clients live at or below the poverty line
• 2,500 trained caregivers providing essential support
• 50% reduction in emergency room visits and nearly 100% reduction in hospitalizations for clients since 2019

HRA's programs also serve veterans with disabilities, helping them access crucial benefits such as the VA Aid and Attendance (A&A) program, enabling them to receive care at home without navigating complex VA systems. Helping Restore Ability offers quality caregiving services for veterans, their spouses, and surviving spouses in Collin, Ellis, Dallas, Tarrant, and Denton Counties.
