2024 has already been a big year for us. We are experiencing a 40% increase in intakes compared to this time last year. The North Texas community and local wildlife need us.

We are one of few wildlife centers in North Texas that has a dedicated intake center. Conveniently located in East Plano, our intake center serves as the initial landing spot for native Texas wildlife in need of rehabilitative care. Our intakes include orphaned, injured, and sick wildlife ranging from baby birds with splay leg, opossums that fell off mama too soon, baby raccoons separated from mama, cat caught and dog caught wildlife, animals hit by cars, animals abused by humans, and many other scenarios.

Volunteers keep us up and running and work closely under the supervision of our experienced and trained shift leads. We have vet staff that comes twice a week and walk-in privilege's at our vet's clinic.

Once stabilized, depending on the species, they will either move to pre-release onsite or be transferred to one of our at-home rehabbers. The goal for each intake is to release them back into the wild where they belong so they can fulfill their value and role in our ecosystem.
