With growing staffing shortages in nursing, allied health and many other roles, Texas Health is leading the way with innovative programs to attract, train and retain the next generation of caregivers.

Support nurses at Texas Health by giving to the Nursing Excellence Fund

Our nurses are the backbone of our hospitals and are key players in providing compassionate care to patients and in improving the health of our communities.

This fund provides continuing education and conference scholarships for nurses throughout the Texas Health system. Funding is available to nurses earning a baccalaureate or advanced nursing degree to help with the tuition cost gap. This fund additionally supports nursing research projects.

Inspiring Young Minds and Earn While You Learn: Career Pathways Programs

  • Texas Health Next Step: To spark interest early, the Next Step youth outreach program introduces North Texas students to the breath of healthcare careers — many of which don’t require a degree. Through an interactive platform, students explore real-world paths that could shape their future in healthcare. Next Step provides North Texas students with real-world career exploration through a special software platform that introduces students to various career paths and job roles in healthcare.
  • FastTrack Apprenticeships: Our FastTrack programs offer paid hands-on training, and mentorship, in roles like medical assistant, patient care tech, pharmacy tech, CT and coding. After successful completion of training, graduates are guaranteed jobs at Texas Health.

Building a Pipeline of Trained Doctors: Graduate Medical Education

There’s no doubt that the North Texas population is growing by the day. That’s why building a pipeline of trained medical talent in our region is imperative to caring for the community, today and in the future.

When it comes to comparably sized markets, Dallas-Fort Worth has fewer residency slots per 100,000 people than Chicago, Houston, New York and Los Angeles. With an aging physician workforce in North Texas and numbers of uninsured and medically underserved among the highest in the country, this investment in GME slots will allow Texas Health to address many critical access issues facing consumers in its service area.

You Can Make a Difference

Your support fuels these life-changing opportunities for broad range of individuals that reflect the demographic makeup of our community — building a stronger healthcare workforce and improving care for all.
